Tonsils are paired group of lymphoid tissue present on either side of the throat. In some instances, it may increase in size resulting in snoring and OSA. 
Tonsils are often a source of infection (Tonsillitis),  resulting in recurrent sore throat and fever. If sore throat recurs frequently  and snoring is significant tonsils may have to be surgically removed (Tonsillectomy).
